For the last 28 days I have been participating in “The Get Dressed Challenge: Frumps to Pumps!” hosted by Sarah Mae at Like A Warm Cup of Coffee. As I am coming into the home stretch, I can tell you that it has been nothing like what I hoped it would be, and everything I hoped it would be.
First, it has not been what I hoped it would be. I have not gotten up at 5am every morning and, in fact, most mornings I am lucky if I am up by 6:30am. Most of the mornings of this challenge I got up at 7am with the kids, or just before. I rushed around changing diapers, nursing Oliver, sitting Naomi on the potty, making breakfast, and doing all the other things that take up my mornings.
But, it has been all that I hoped it would be. I have put showering, getting dressed in nice clothes, putting on make-up, and doing all those fun personal care things at the front of my morning. Before we eat or go on with our day, I am ready to “face” the day freshened up and dressed for whatever comes my way. I have felt more productive, been more prepared, and found greater spontaneity in going from Frump to Pumps.
So, thank you Sarah Mae for a great month, and thank you all who participated in The Get Dressed Challenge with me!
What personal challenges have you been working on recently?
Wow, I wish I had followed that challenge!! As a new stay at home mom I am finding it way too easy to stay in pajamas all day. And I find that not getting dressed makes me feel gross all day, unproductive and unmotivated. This is definitely something I need to work on! Thanks for the encouragment!
You’re welcome! Thanks for the reminder that I’m not alone! 🙂
